I may have travelled the most unusual path after RHS. In fact, it has not really been a physical path at all. From a very young age, I have been interested in discovering the cause and solution for all the unhappiness and suffering I see in the world. I first noticed it in my own family and my first public statement was posted upon our bathroom door one Christimas, "The Spirit of Christmas belongs all year long." Throughout high school, I always wore a smile on the outside, but yearned for love, peace and unity on the inside.

My search for an answer took me to experiences that many of us had as members of the counter culture of the 60's... the free love, the nude encounter groups, the drugs, etc. I studied psychology and I was not impressed by the popular concept that we are a product of our social environment. And how could people ever be satisfied if it was true that we are only using a small fraction of our human potential? I was much more attracted to the philosophies and spiritual practices of the East. I was intrigued by the mystery of the inner workings of the mind and consciousness. Could it be accessed? Was there more energy, creativity, power and happiness there waiting to be revealed?

It didn't take me long to discover that this was indeed possible. And that it was simple and that it was easy to do so. It just took learning the TM technique, an ancient practice that wasn't available to Western culture until the 60s. After that first meditation when I experienced the calmness, the expansion and the inner contentment, I knew I was onto something extraordinary. The answer to my prayer to have the Christmas spirit present all the time might just be possible. My growing joy and satisfaction grew into the desire to become a spokesman for the organization.

In 1975 and I spent 6 months in France sequestered with 200 others and became a teacher. Teaching TM and sharing this precious knowledge has been a constant over time. Financial limitations have never allowed me to drop my day job: an adequate remodeling contractor more interested in helping you "remodel" your life. Now that more high flying celebs are making news with their love of TM, I soon may be talking and teaching the wonders of TM morning, noon and night.

In the meantime, know that one member of our class is an expert in the development of consciousness, a guide who can take you from the ordinary to the sublime. I have come to know that the nature of life IS bliss, and that the goal of your mind, body and soul is to keep searching until it knows the full value of the freedom, joy and fulfillment that resides within. The forecast looks great from here. Sunny on the inside with the chance for heaven on earth.
